Are Strikes Successful?

This paper describes and provides details about different strikes that happened throughout the decade.  Even though the NFL, NBA, and NHL lockout, MTA strike, General Motors strike, and the Hayward, California teacher’s strike have their unique issues they all have many of the same issues in common.  The workers/employees demanded more money and the employers want to pay the employees less so that they could bring in more profit. . People are often asking for more and sometimes the only way they feel they can get more is to go on strike for it shows that they are willing to do anything for what they believe in. As United Auto Workers (UAW) President Ron Gettelfinger once said, "No one benefits in a strike.”  I believe the message he was trying to share was that when a strike happens the only way for it to be resolved is to have both sides compromise because one side rarely gets everything they want.
